Summer Housing for Undergraduate Students
We welcome students from across the world and help them experience our vibrant residential community. Summer Residential staff will help you connect with other students, offer support, and encourage you to explore amenities on campus and throughout Chicago.
Summer Session coordinates housing for College, Transfer and Visiting students enrolled in Summer Session classes, as well as a program for College students conducting research:
Current UChicago College Students
College Housing: If you are taking Summer Quarter classes, request housing through the Housing & Residence Life office for options on the Hyde Park campus. MBL Summer Quarter students staying in Woods Hole, MA, should check with that program manager.
Summer Research Residency: If you are conducting research either on campus or the Chicago area, consider applying to this UC College program. Visit the Summer Research Residency program to learn about eligibility, rates, timeline and other details.
Transfer Students
Students enrolled in in-person classes this Summer are welcome to live on campus during their program. Check your housing & dining options.
Visiting Undergraduate Students
Visiting students enrolled in at least one Summer course are eligible to apply for housing for the duration of their course. Students are required to move into their housing assignment on the day before their course(s) begins and to move out the day after their course ends.
The cost of the Summer Session housing & dining plan in 2025 was $1,050 per week. The 2026 rate will be released Winter Quarter 2026.
